Jamie Farr (author), was born Jameel Joseph Farah on July 1, 1934 in Toledo, Ohio, the only son of Samuel, a meat cutter/grocer, and Jamelia, a seamstress. At age eleven, Jamie won two dollars in a local talent content. Thus began the acting career of the man known best as Corporal Klinger on the hit television show M*A*S*H. Of the M*A*S*H cast, Farr is the only one to have served in the military, serving two years with the Army in Korea and Japan. During the first season of M*A*S*H, Farr was hired for one day's work. Something about the chomped cigar under the veil and hairy legs under the flowing skirt and hook nose clicked with the producers. Thus Farr became a regular on and even directed several episodes of what TV Guide
has called the best television show of all time.
Joy Ann Farr (author), was born Joy Ann Richards in Danville, Illinois. Although the population of Danville is
around 50,000 people, it is the home of Dick and Jerry Van Dyke, Gene Hackman, Donald O'Connor, and musician Bobby Short, and of course, Joy Farr.
After high school, Joy went to Chicago and did some modeling. Eventually, she decided to move to Hollywood. Only there a few days, she met Jamie. That was it. They have been married for more than
40 years and raised two wonderful children, Jonas and Yvonne. Joy has been involved in numerous creative ventures including a line of women's clothing. No, thankfully, not based on the outfits of
Jamie's character, Klinger, from M*A*S*H. Joy is an avid animal lover and interior decorator.
Alice io Oglesby (illustrator), used colored pencil and marker on vellum to create the illustrations for this book. An avid drawer and designer her whole life, Alice is a native of Vermont.
